Dear Parents,
What a busy four weeks we have had at school this year, especially this past week! Monday was our fundraiser at Cold Stone. Thank you to everyone who was able to go there on Labor Day. When I went at 7:00 PM, the owner said they had been busy all day, that it was just like a Friday for them. She also commented on how nice our families were. We received a check from them on Friday for $225!
Ukulele Jam started on Tuesday with Mrs Idzera, and will continue each Tuesday until 4:15 PM in the Middle School. Our wonderful choir met on Wednesday to prepare for Mass on Saturday, and they did a beautiful job singing last night. On Friday, we had our first family lunch and it was so great seeing everyone, especially the grandparents who were able to attend. Over 80 people signed in, but I think there were more who were here. Our 7th and 8th graders did a nice job of planning for and decorating; see attached. 6th grade will host the next lunch on Friday, October 4.
This week looks to be just as busy with International Appreciation Club beginning after school on Monday. IA Club is for students in 4th grade and higher, and meets in the Middle School with Mrs. Idzerda until 4:00 PM. We also have a few field trips planned in various grades, and school pictures are on Friday.
As a Catholic school, we are a place for our students to encounter the living God. Our school provides daily opportunities for students to encounter Jesus, with a staff who provides examples of how to live our faith. We are called to help our students grow into the persons they were made to become, with the hope that the knowledge the students gradually acquire of the world is illuminated by our faith. Everything we do supports the Catholic fundamental element of getting kids to Heaven. Thank you for trusting Sacred Heart Catholic School to teach your student not only the academics, but about our Catholic faith as well.

529 Savings Plan
Does anyone have any experience with the 529 Savings Plan in regards to how it supports tuition for private K-12 schools? If so, will you please share your experience with me? If this is something that can help our parents, I would like to share it with everyone.
