Dear Parents,
Happy Lent! This past week we went to mass on Wednesday for Ash Wednesday, and then to Stations of the Cross at 2:30 Friday afternoon. Even though not required by students under the age of 18, we were able to provide meatless lunches both days to encourage the Lenten discipline of fasting. Fasting is a form of penance, which helps us turn away from sin and toward Christ. All these things we do as a normal part of our day make up our Catholic Identity, which is who we are at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Thank you for trusting us with your children.the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. From the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops at
Accreditation Survey
Thank you to the 44 staff parents who have completed the survey that begins our accreditation process. We have 81 families, so we are halfway to our goal. If you have not had a chance to complete the survey yet, will you, please?
Child Safety - Protect Yourself Training for Students
Our school is required by the diocese to train every student in how to protect themselves in physical boundaries and safe touching. Training for the students who are opted-in by their parents will be held during the weeks of February 20 - 23, and 26 - 29. If you have not returned your student's form, will you please send it Tuesday?
Tiny Saints
Miss Chavez nominated our school to win a free Tiny Saint for every student and t-shirt of our patron saint for every staff member - a prize valued up to $10,000. All we have to do is get as many votes for our school as we are able. Voting is easy for everyone aged 18 and up at TinySaints.com. The school with the most votes will have the highest probability to win this great gift to help their teachers and students grow in devotion to their patron saint. The voting window closes February 22nd at midnight, and the winner will be announced on February 23rd.
Mission with Ryan Tremblay
Beginning on Saturday, February 24, Sacred Heart Parish will host a mission with Ryan Tremblay, a touring international Christian recording artist. He will be at all masses and will also have special evening presentations at 7:00 PM on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. On Tuesday, February 27, Ryan will work with our students in grades 3 through 8 who would like to sing with him, beginning at 8:15 AM for instruction, then a performance at 10:00 AM for the entire school. Families are also welcome at this concert. At his 7:00 PM performance, our students who sang with him that morning are invited to perform that evening. Father Tim met Ryan in August while on his trip to Portugal. You can learn more about Ryan on his website at
ryantremblaymusic.com.

If you have a student making his or her first Communion/Confirmation in April and will attend the parent meeting at 5:30 in the church, please join us after that meeting; I promise we will still be planning!

Raffle Tickets
Thank you for continuing to sell raffle tickets for our Dream Vacation Raffle. The proceeds of this raffle will help to meet the financial demands of our school. All of the prizes have been generously donated so there is minimal expense, making this a very profitable fundraiser. If you have already sold the 12 tickets your family is responsible for selling, we have more! Just ask Mrs. Carla. Remember, if you know of someone purchasing tickets online on behalf of your family, please do NOT fill out the paper raffle ticket stub for them. We will fill out tickets for all of the online sales before the drawing. For the actual drawing, there will be the exact same ticket stub for online sales as we have for paper ticket sales, so the odds of winning are the same no matter how the ticket is purchased. All money is due Friday, March 1 and the drawing will be Friday, March 8 during a Facebook Livestream.
